Scarborough House is a modern new-build residential project where timeless design meets flawless execution. Evergreen Architectural Woodworking & Design was proud to collaborate on this home, providing all custom millwork, wood detailing, and stonework for the vanities. Every wood element featured throughout the house — from the statement stair screen and wall paneling to the refined kitchen cabinetry — was thoughtfully designed, fabricated, and installed by our skilled team.

This project called for an understated, contemporary aesthetic, anchored by the natural warmth of white oak. Evergreen’s expertise was called upon to bring cohesion to the home’s interior while highlighting each feature with precision and elegance.

Standout Elements Include:

  • Stair Cladding: The staircase serves as a sculptural focal point, wrapped in sequentially matched white oak cladding for a uniform grain flow that connects the entire space.

  • Slatted Wood Panel Wall: This architectural feature wall pairs texture with visual rhythm, creating depth and dimension while complementing the staircase.

  • Kitchen Cabinetry & Island: Sleek, custom-crafted cabinetry and a matching island clad in white oak deliver both functionality and sophisticated style.

  • Stone Bathroom Vanities: Alongside our millwork, Evergreen supplied and installed the stone vanities, adding a seamless natural element to the bathrooms.

Challenges & Solutions

One of the most distinctive aspects of the Scarborough House project was the client’s vision for continuous, flawless white oak surfaces throughout multiple levels of the home — especially along the stair wall and adjacent paneling.

To meet this challenge:

  • We sourced sequentially matched white oak sheets to ensure visual consistency from the basement to the second floor.

  • Close coordination with the stair manufacturer was crucial, allowing both the stair system and the wall paneling to align perfectly, preserving the design intent and delivering a seamless finished look.

Through precise planning and collaboration, Evergreen was able to exceed expectations and achieve a cohesive architectural flow throughout the home.
